Samuel Adams has recognized the accomplishments of passionate homebrewers and launched their careers for more than 20 years.
This year, the Samuel Adams LongShot American Homebrew Contest is pairing the winner with Samuel Adams’s award-winning team of brewers in its the nano brewery with its 10-barrel brewhouse and barrel room.
“We updated our successful LongShot contest to not only recognize top homebrewing talent, but also to support the growth of the craft beer industry by providing nuts and bolts advice and hands-on experience to make their brewing dreams a reality,” said Jim Koch, founder and brewer of Samuel Adams, in a news release.
The so-called “Brewership” provides the winner with professional insights into running a brewery, sourcing ingredients and testing for quality during this weeklong event. The winner also will brew a limited release of their beer that will be available in their hometown.
In addition to the Brewership, the winner and the two runners-up will have the opportunity to attend the Great American Beer Festival in Colorado and receive a scholarship for an online course at The Siebel Institute of Technology.
To compete, homebrewers must explain their passion for brewing, including their reason for wanting to become a professional brewer, in a two-minute video that must be uploaded to www.samueladams.com/longshot by July 25.
