Consumer are strongly advised to stop using Fred’s Charcoal Grill because its exterior paint can ignite, causing a fire hazard.
Fred’s Stores voluntarily filed this recall with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, according to a federal news release.
The Living Traditions mini barrel charcoal grills affected by the recall have the following characteristics:
- Black steel grills measuring about 18 inches by 15 inches by 18.5 inches;
- Black handle on the lid and one on each side;
- Heat gauge at the front and silver latch.
The model number is SXB1501 and UPC code, 00000 19877, both of which are printed on the grill’s packaging.
Consumer should seek a refund by calling 800-374-7417 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or visiting www.fredsinc.com and clicking on the “Recall Information” banner.
