Fireworks Recalled Because of Unexpected Explosion

The federal government has issued a recall of a particular firework because of burn and injury hazards.

TNT Red, White, & Blue Smoke fireworks can unexpectedly explode after they are lit rather than smoke, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on June 27 in a news release.

Three injuries have been reported as of the date of this announcement.

If anyone has purchased these fireworks, they can receive a full refund by contacting America Promotional Events.

Sold in three canisters, each firework is contained in a cardboard cylinder tube that measures about 1 inch in diameter and 5 inches long. The UPC number 027736036561 appears on the packaging.

To contact American Promotional Events, call 800-243-1189 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday; email or visit and click on Product Recall at the bottom right-hand corner of the page.
