Savings for Thanksgiving travel begin sooner than most travelers may realize.
With Labor Day behind us, the deals are beginning now up to the two weeks before Nov. 23.
Skyscanner, a global travel search engine, analyzed data from its more than 60 million monthly users to determine the most opportune time to score holiday trip deals.
Starting this week and leading up to the week of Nov. 6, a traveler can find potential savings of up to 4 percent. A round-trip domestic airline ticket around the holiday period will average around $300, according to a news release from Skyscanner.
To find affordable rates, Skyscanner encourages consumers to expand their flight searches to include other area airports. Being flexible with departure and return dates as well as setting up price alerts may also yield more affordable options.
Skyscanner based its data on domestic round-trip travel for one-adult ticket during the past two years.
